In 2001, he was invited to join the SITCRC as a PhD student in the UE Program. His doctoral research focuses on the transmission of non-verbal content, primarily emotion, through technologically mediated interactions. During the last year, Robert has published several papers on this research topic, endeavouring to see the development of new ways of integrating non-verbal content into emerging communications media. He is looking forward to developing linkages with the technology programs in the SITCRC to further this research into the UCD of technologically mediated interactions.
